Overview

The KC300x Stage 2 Gen 3 Turbo is the ultimate 100% drop-in turbo upgrade for the 7.3 Powerstroke platform. After years of in-house R&D, this turbo delivers faster spool, increased airflow, and superior reliability compared to previous generations and competing drop-in turbos on the market.

Designed for high horsepower applications while maintaining excellent street manners, the KC300x Gen 3 eliminates known weak points of the factory turbo and earlier KC designs—making it the most advanced drop-in option available.

Performance Design Details

The Gen 3 KC300x utilizes a 0.91 A/R turbine housing and 0.70 A/R compressor cover, replacing older, inefficient housing designs. Drawing inspiration from modern turbocharger technology, the flow path, volute shape, and material density were completely re-engineered.

Compared to the previous 0.84 and 1.0 A/R turbine housings, the new 0.91 A/R:

  • Spools quicker

  • Produces more usable top-end power

  • Maintains excellent drive pressure control

The redesigned bearing housing allows for 200% larger thrust bearings and significantly upgraded journal bearings, dramatically improving reliability at elevated boost and horsepower levels.


Injector & Turbo Sizing Guidance

This turbo is recommended for 205/30 up to 238/80 injectors.

  • Will operate on smaller injectors, but for 205/30 and smaller, we recommend the KC300x Gen 3 Stage 1.

  • Exact compressor sizing is proprietary, but rest assured:
    This turbo will outperform any other drop-in turbo on the market — guaranteed.

Fitment Information

  • Designed for 7.3 Powerstroke pickup trucks

  • Fits 7.3 vans with modification to:

    • Turbo intake boot

    • Downpipe

  • Will NOT fit OBS or E99 trucks without modification

  • Fitment with aftermarket fuel systems, plenums, or piping kits cannot be guaranteed

Exhaust Brake Notice

Some exhaust brakes may cause clearance or performance issues due to flapper-style designs that create excessive back pressure. Fitment and compatibility are the responsibility of the customer.


Finish Options & Lead Times

  • Turbos are sand cast by default

  • Optional polished compressor cover available for $250

    • 2-week lead time for polished covers

  • Powder coating may take up to 3 weeks before shipping
