🔥 Some Trucks Are More Than Just Trucks

The Nelly Limited Edition T-Shirt tells the story of a 1997 Ford F-350 that was never supposed to make it back.

Long before Nelly became the truck she is today, she belonged to Wyatt Young's father. She spent her working years hot shotting, ranching, hauling horse trailers, heading out on hunting trips, and doing whatever was necessary to help the family make ends meet.

Eventually, those working days ended. Nelly was parked in a barn, where she sat for more than a decade.

Then an 18-year-old Wyatt decided she deserved another chance.

His dad warned him against buying the truck. It would cost too much. It would be a headache. It might put him into a financial hole.

Wyatt bought it anyway.

🔧 From the Barn Back to the Road

Bringing Nelly back wasn't easy.

There were wiring problems from rats, multiple coolant leaks, breakdowns, and more than a few times when the truck left Wyatt stranded. He worked weekends and regularly put in 80-hour weeks, pouring paycheck after paycheck back into his 1997 F-350.

Eventually, after another breakdown, Wyatt found himself wondering whether his dad had been right all along.

He could sell the truck. He could give up. Or worse he could tell his dad he was right.

Instead, he kept going.

That's when Wyatt found Complete Performance. From lighting and billet handles to engine parts, exhaust, tuning, and everything in between, Nelly slowly started becoming the truck Wyatt had pictured when he first pulled her out of that barn.

But somewhere along the way, the project became about something bigger than rebuilding an old Ford.

Wyatt's dad started seeing what his son was building. Before long, father and son were working on Nelly together.

The same truck that had spent years working for his father was now bringing them back into the shop together.

⭐ "I'd Rather Wear Out Than Rust Out."

Wyatt's dad had stories about Nelly hauling as much as 28,000 pounds, crossing New Mexico state lines, and seeing more country than most old ranch trucks ever will.

Wyatt decided she'd done enough working.

Nelly wasn't going to spend retirement rusting away in a field. She was going back on the road, surrounded by other OBS Fords and driven by someone who refused to give up on her.

That's when his dad gave him a piece of advice Wyatt carried with him:

"There's a lot of people in this world that would choose to just rust out... but I'd rather wear out."

That became more than a saying about the truck. It became a way of approaching the project and life.

Late nights in the shop. Learning. Troubleshooting. Fabricating. Getting things wrong and doing them again. Wyatt kept going until one day he was walking into a grocery store, turned around, looked back at Nelly in the parking lot, and remembered what she looked like when he first winched her out of that barn covered in mud.

She had made it back.
