Replacement Coolant Filters – Non-Charged Units

These are NON-CHARGED coolant filter elements, which are the only filters we recommend. We no longer offer pre-charged coolant filters and have never recommended their use.

Pre-charged filters rely on timed-release SCA tablets, which do not replace proper coolant testing, maintenance, or balancing. For simpler, more effective cooling system maintenance, we recommend using RMI-25 in combination with non-charged coolant filters. RMI-25 requires no balancing and keeps the cooling system clean without introducing unnecessary additives.

🔥 Why Coolant Filtration Matters:

Coolant filtration is standard practice in medium-duty and over-the-road diesel engines, yet it was largely omitted from light-duty trucks due to cost — not necessity.

Diesel engines like the 7.3L Powerstroke are cast using sand molds, and not all casting sand is removed during manufacturing. Over time, this sand and other debris circulate through the cooling system, causing accelerated wear and failure of critical components.

Common damage caused by unfiltered coolant includes:

• Premature water pump seal failure

• Clogged oil cooler passages

• Radiator and hose wear

• Reduced coolant life
