Dual Tank Gravity Feed Conversion Kit | OBS Ford
If you want to keep both factory fuel tanks but eliminate the factory fuel tank selector valve, this kit converts the dual-tank system to a gravity-feed setup.
The rear tank sits higher than the front/side tank, allowing fuel from the rear tank to gravity feed into the front tank. A ball valve is installed between the two tanks, allowing you to shut off fuel flow from the rear tank when needed.
In our instructions and illustrations:
- Tank 1 – Front or side tank
- Tank 2 – Rear tank
Kit Includes
- Block-off fittings for the rear sending unit
- Fittings for the bottom of the rear tank to create the gravity-feed connection
- Front tank sump and installation kit
- Ball valve
- Block-off fitting for the front sending unit return
- 16' of hose and fitting to convert the factory front sending unit feed into the new return
- All required hoses and fittings to complete the installation
Fuel sending units are NOT included.
Umbrellas are no longer required with this setup.
38-Gallon Tank Compatibility
This kit can also be used with:
- F26E 38-gallon rear Bronco tank conversions
- 38-gallon Super Duty front tank conversions
Important Installation Information
For this system to operate correctly, both fuel tank vents must be working properly.
The fuel filler tubes and fuel caps must also be in good working condition. Because the rear tank gravity feeds into the front tank, a venting or filler-cap issue can allow a slow fuel leak when both tanks are completely full.
Make sure the complete fuel system is inspected before installing and filling both tanks.
Auxiliary Bed Tank Applications
We can also modify this kit for trucks equipped with an auxiliary fuel tank mounted in the bed.
For an auxiliary tank setup, we will need:
- Fuel tank port size
- Photos showing the tank
- Photos showing how the tank is mounted in the bed
This information allows us to determine the fittings and hose configuration needed for your particular setup.
