DIY Single-Link Traction Bar Fabrication Kit – Ford Style Frame Brackets
Build your own heavy-duty traction bars with this DIY Single-Link Traction Bar Fabrication Kit. This kit provides the major mounting components and hardware needed to fabricate one complete pair of single-link traction bars, while allowing you to choose your own tubing material and finished bar length.
This setup is ideal for custom applications where you want to control the exact length and construction of the traction bars while starting with purpose-built axle and frame mounting components.
Available Options
Option 1 – Non-Adjustable
- Ford-style frame brackets
- Non-adjustable bar ends
- Designed for a simple, fixed-length traction bar setup
Option 2 – Adjustable
- Ford-style frame brackets
- Adjustable bar ends
- Allows additional adjustment when setting up the finished traction bars
Application
- Axle mounts are cut for a 3.5" diameter axle tube
- Frame brackets can be mounted on the inside or outside of the frame
- Designed to build one pair of single-link traction bars
- Customer determines final bar length based on vehicle and mounting configuration
What's Included
The kit includes the necessary hard parts and mounting components to fabricate a pair of traction bars.
Traction bar tubing/material is NOT included.
What You'll Need
You will need to supply your own link material in the length and style required for your build. Depending on your fabrication preference, you can use:
- Round tubing
- Square tubing
- Flat bar or other suitable fabrication material
For our typical builds, we use 2" round tubing with a .120" wall thickness.
Bushing casing dimensions:
- 2.250" outside diameter
- 2.125" wide
Important Installation Information
This is a DIY fabrication kit, not a complete bolt-on traction bar system. Cutting, measuring, welding, and fabrication are required.
Because every truck can vary in ride height, suspension configuration, wheelbase, and desired mounting position, supplying your own link material allows the traction bars to be built specifically for your truck.
Professional welding and fabrication are recommended.
